Hello Parents,
We are quickly approaching the season of Advent and I will be incorporating our Gospel value of Hope into our discussions.

The grade 6's will be starting Theme 2 in Fully Alive that focuses on Living in Relationships. We will examine normal stresses that occur in family life and friendships as well as effective communication. The students have been working on the Image of God that is portrayed in the Bible as well as their own personal perception of God. We will be moving on to examine the importance of the Ten Commandments and the Beatitudes.

For grade 5's we also will be starting Theme 2 in the Fully Alive program that also focuses on Living In Relationship. This theme examines the uniqueness of all families and the support they offer each other as well as the essential qualities of lasting friendships. The students have been working on the Covenants that God has made to His people through the bible as well as their own personal covenant with God. We will be building a Jesse Tree to learn of the ancestry of Jesus as we prepare our hearts for His coming into the world.

Happy Thanksgiving Parents,

I wish you a blessed long weekend spent with your loved ones. May we all take a moment to reflect on our many blessings and show gratitude by the way we treat each other.

The grade 6's have done a super job in working together for the Terry Fox Run which will take place on the Tuesday right after Thanksgiving. We, as a school,  are going to meet in the gym after first recess for a short assembly and then will be running together outside as a whole school community. Please feel free to join us. Below are the gr.6 and gr.5 bulletin boards.

Hello Parents!
I am excited to be your child's Religion teacher this year. Please check this blog for updates and pictures that will keep you informed of what we are doing in class.
We have begun to set-up our prayer shelf and I encourage any special memento that your child would like to display on it, to do so. The grade 5 religious symbol is the rock and the grade 6 symbol is the lantern. We will be discussing their significance and creating one of our own.

If you would like to view the Fully Alive Program, it can be found on the website: acbo.on.ca/fully-alive/. We will be starting theme 1 in the near future.

Welcome to a brand new year!!

Hello Parents,
Both of my classes have completed theme 4 in the Fully Alive Program. The theme for this unit was on the importance of commitments in our lives and their fulfillment.

The grade 5's will be creating skits on commitment and the grade 6's will be researching a person who has shown a great commitment in their life
There will be a school mass held at St.Isidore's church on Thursday May 4 at 10:00 a.m. All are welcome. Some of the grade 5's will have speaking parts.

A guest will be speaking on her Islamic faith next Thursday at 2:20 to the grade 6's. It should be very informative for us all. I think it is important to understand and be appreciative of  other people's  beliefs and the commonalities that we all share.
